Let’s talk spring capsule wardrobe-essentials. What should you add to your spring collection? What are the must-haves to build a capsule wardrobe? Tell me what capsule means! Well, let me tell you…
Starting with a capsule wardrobe, it’s a concept that is there to help you refine your wardrobe to pieces that can revolve and be worn year after year, match each other perfectly to create a large number of outfits with a smaller amount of clothes and keep things minimal yet to your style. When building a capsule wardrobe it’s best to think about pieces that will be timeless, can be worn for multiple occasions and look at how you can style pieces together. To build a capsule wardrobe you have to have a good idea of your personal style and what suits you. But I would love to do a full blog post on how to build a capsule wardrobe so let me know if that’s something you are interested in.
So for spring, I think it’s one of the best seasons to really bring your capsule wardrobe alive. They are pieces you can wear all year round but also they really suit this transitional weather we go through. Here are some pieces I think are perfect for your spring capsule wardrobe:
1 – Linen blazer. I treated myself to a blazer last year and they are one of the best investments that you can make. They fit really well but you can also go oversized for a more relaxed and casual style, and you can dress up or down according to the occasion.

2 – White shirt. White shirts are a wonderful thing for spring because you can wear them over a camisole, alone on holiday over a bikini or you can dress it up for work.

3 – Oversized blue striped shirt. I discovered the joy of blue striped shirts last year and it’s one of my favourite spring wardrobe pieces. As someone who prefers neutrals, this is a great way to introduce a small amount of colour in a way that can be dressed casually or more formally for work occasions.

4 – Ribbed vest top. I love this beige colour vest top, but it’s always a good idea to have two or so in your collections. They are affordable and perfect for the warmer days in spring when you want a casual outfit and can be thrown on to layer or to lounge around in.

5 – Leather jacket. Often people think leather jackets are better in winter but mine always comes out in spring. You can find lighter ones which make it the perfect outer layer for spring weather. Wear with a hoodie, over a dress or with a shirt.

6 – Veja trainers. Vejas are a staple in my wardrobe all year round but I think they are best in Spring. They are a lightweight trainer perfect for spring activities but also have a contrast to them to match multiple outfits.

7 – Black converse. I think the converse are an all-time favourite for a lot of people. As they are canvas they are especially better for the warmer weather. And they are on the more affordable end of trainers.

8 – Knitted dress. For a casual outfit or for something more dresses up, knitted dresses are a good option for spring as they can be styled with a range of outwear options or worn on their own for the warmer days.

9 – Trench coats. A good trench will do the work for you. You can throw one on over pretty much any outfit and they are so versatile. I have one from ASOS last season and it’s a dream.

10 – Striped jumpers. Stripes are a spring classic to introduce some pattern into a capsule wardrobe but also allow it to still work with a range of different outfit options. They are gorgeous and will work on sweatpants to work trousers.

11 – Light blue jeans. Blue jeans are the epitome of spring. I also love H&M jeans because as someone who struggles to get jeans to fit around the waist and thighs they are really comfortable and inexpensive. I opt for straight leg or mom style as they are the most circular style of jeans in trends.
