Having worn makeup ever since I turned 13, I felt like I have tried so many different brands and types of makeup. Because of that I have gathered a fairly good idea of my preferences. From being 13 and trying concealer for the first time, to being 21 and working with Dior my preferences have changed slightly. I still love a good hughstreet makeup item. From amazing dupes, to my staple Maybelline concealer high street makeup will always be a draw. However since being fortunate enough to try some higher end luxury makeup I have started to see a difference between quality. Whilst some high street products for me will beat luxury any day. Sometimes you can tell the quality of higher end products and they are impeccable. So this is a little blog post about luxury makeup items I love.
I think there is such a fine line between high-street and luxury sometimes, and luxury can be relative. For me something that is luxury might be an everyday staple for another. So these items I am going to speak about are a luxury to me. Luxury can come in so many forms. From quality to price so whichever it might be for you appreciate that and treat yourself! Dior Forever Natural Bronze in 05 Warm Bronze* – I was recently lucky enough to be gifted a couple of bronzers from Dior a few weeks ago and I am in love. The packaging is a plush quilted lid. I love the fact there is a mirror because when I do my makeup on the go I always find bronzer the hardest without a mirror. This bronzer is so creamy to blend despite being a powder. And I love the slightly warmer shade as it is really pigmented.
Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder* – I have been using the translucent powder for the last 4/5 years and have never served to trying a new powder as it is just such a staple. The price point is high in comparison to high-street powders however I believe its worth it. Mine will last me a good year and a half at least making me get really good value for money. But also it works really well for me and my job as it doesn’t give you any flash back. It also makes the skin look well finished for photos.
Givenchy Le Rouge Luminous Matte Hydrating Lipstick in No100 Beige Caraman* – I always really struggle to find a nude lipstick that suits my skin tone. As my skin tone is so olive toned, a lot of nude lipsticks look too pink for my skin tone. However this Givenchy Le Rouge lipstick in Beige Caraman is the perfect shade. It still has a hint of pink however anything too brown in my opinion isn’t my style. This was also gifted to me. However I fell in love with the shade and is the perfect no-makeup makeup nude.
Becca Cosmetics Aqua Luminous Concealer in Fair* – This concealer is one of my go-to concealers and to me it is luxury because Becca Cosmetics sadly announced that they were shutting down I was gutted. I suffer from eczema around my eyes and this is one of the only concealers that I found didn’t cause my eczema to flair up. I am really gutted because I can’t seem to find my shade anymore. It is all completely sold out and won’t be restocked. Right now I am just scrapping the last out of my one so that is my concealer luxury!
Fenty Beauty Sun Stalk’r Instant Warmth Bronzer in Shady Biz* – I have a bit of a think for higher-end bronzers if you haven’t already noticed as I have had so many experiences with ones that are just so patchy. So to add to my luxury list is the Fenty Beauty Bronzer in shade biz. I love a powder product and this one is one of my favourites. In my opinion it is the perfect summer shade and also the easiest bronzer to blend. It is really natural and more of a matte bronzer which is a look I prefer as I tend to have more of a dewy foundation/base.
IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream SPF50* – The IT Cosmetics CC cream to me is a luxury because it is a slightly higher price point than I normally pay for a CC cream or base however this product has complete revolutionised my makeup routine. I love the way it looks on my skin – it looks just like a foundation. It holds all day if not longer, and it never irritates my skin. Just an all-round must have if you are looking for a good summer base option!
