Let’s just take a minute to talk about oversized coats. This coat in the image above has been my most warn coat this winter. Not just because it is like wearing an actual duvet, but because it is so practical. With the lockdown, like most people, I have been trying to go for a walk a couple of times a week. But I also live in Devon, where it rains 90% of the time. So having a coat that is waterproof, comfortable, practical and holds some sort of style is really essential. In lockdown we have to take any moment we can to dress up nicely am I right?
My coat was from Topshop a couple of years ago. I got it around this time of years in the sale down to £35 from £70. YES. Thats right! And I used to wear it to rugby as I worked at a rugby club doing the social media. But whether its for that, or for dog walks it is the dream winter coat. As its a few years old, you can’t get this exact one, but I wanted to leave some other alternatives of different price ranges below because I feel they are a wardrobe essential. Let me know in the comments which is your favourite.

Thanks for sharing these, I definitely need a big warm coat. It’s freezing at the moment! I like the idea of having a big coat like a duvet haha.

They are just so essential aren’t they?!
A big warm coat is an absolute must at the moment, isn’t it?! I’m not quite sure this style would suit me, but out of the options I would go for the one with the contrasting coloured collar.
Thanks for sharing!

Yes they are essential right now!
Such a great winter coat – it looks so cosy and as you said perfect for the rain! I like the look of coats like these but we don’t really need them here in Brisbane, even in winter!
Hope your week is going well 🙂 It’s a busy one here!
Haha thats true! We get such cold winters (okay not like the North Pole or something but its still like -5 out haha!)
Ahh, I do love a good oversized coat and am always on the lookout in my size.

Oh thank you so so much Bettye!
I love oversized coats, they’re so good for layering. You’ve picked some great ones here, I think the vinyl one is my favourite! x
Its a beauty isn’t it!
During lockdown, outerwear/coats have become a major point of our wardrobe. Like you said the weather has really been defining the kind of coat I wear and in Berlin with the snow and rain I was wearing maxi coats with hoodies. But then last weekend, it began to get really sunny so my maxi coats are going to get lighter for e.g. trenches. Have a lovely week, Xo

I think trenches are a gorgeous and essential coat in a wardrobe as they can be perfect for that transition style!
