I have done a whole blog post on knitted dresses last year, but not this specific black high neck knitted dress. And why? I don’t know because it is bloody gorgeous – and super comfy. I am really into comfortable clothing that is still chic. And this is basically the perfect summary for this dress. So let’s talk more about it.
This knitted jumper dress is from New Look! I haven’t shopped in New Look in a few years because I got stuck into the whole world of Zara and H&M. But it did used to be a staple growing up. I think that was my issue. I shopped there a lot in my early teens so I had it stuck in my head that the clothing they still did suit that age group better. But boy I was wrong. After having a look at their site, and picking a few things, I think they just have a really good mix for all ages. I know it’s also one of my gran’s go-to shops – so all ages.
This jumper dress stood out to me because I felt like there was a gap in my wardrobe for a casual and minimal jumper dress. I have my Zara jumper dress from a few seasons ago which is a more formal jumper dress. But this one is a bit more casual and everyday style. Saying that it could really be dressed up for a day to evening look. So the versatility is a major bonus.
I styled it with a simple combo of my Veja trainers and a cream woven dune handbag. The black and cream in the trainers and the cream bag just draw the outfit together nicely. It’s a simple, but a chic outfit that can be suitable for anything. A shopping day, coffee date or a meal out. In my books, a nice pair of white trainers will finish off any outfit.
But you can also style this with an oversized leather jacket and some combat boots for an edgier look. Or you could match it with an aviator jacket for a look that suits the colder weather a bit more. They also do this in a maternity dress version so you can be chic and comfortable whatever the occasion.
