Hello, 2021. After a pretty weird year last year, we have finally gone through it and come out the other side. This time last year I had really good feelings about 2020. I wanted it to be the year that I travel solo on more than one occasion, the year that I finally start earning an income on my Instagram so I could quit my job and the year that everything good just happens. And look where that got me haha!
But given everything, I am grateful for the opportunities I had. I got a boyfriend, I started a business, I turned 21, I found my dream city to live in, and most importantly I am healthy and have a roof over my head. Like everyone, there were some real hardpoints. I lost my grandad in the summer, and the pandemic got to everyone too. So I am ready to put it behind us, but also remember it for what it was.
Typically I am a big goal setter. Whether that is mini-goals to help me get through my day and get everything on my to-do list done or big ones for the year, I set them. However, I am a bit tied as to whether to set any resolutions or not. Last year really showed how you can’t predict anything. But also I do like to have some guidance. Not everyone is for having resolutions, and I get that because as 12 AM comes on the 1st of January it’s not like it’s a switch for change. We still have to get on and do the same stuff as before.
I think there is the normal, eat better, go back to the gym, and do dry January, which I have in my head. Because I have eaten, drank, and slept to my heart’s content this festive period. But I am also not going to be too harsh on myself. But also in mind, I want to be able to go away with my boyfriend this year – but that’s not a set in stone resolution as we will only go away when it’s safe to do so. Finally, I want to save hard to move out in the next year or two, and I want to do so by making my business my job once I graduate.
I think I will be sticking to the mini-goals for now. I have a new Papier planner which I got for my birthday which even has sections for this. So my main goal is to stick to using that planner religiously every day and the rest will follow haha!
Are you a resolution and goal setter? Or are you taking each day as it comes?

Happy new year lovely!
I’m hoping to travel more once we’re out of lockdown and out of tiers. Just around the UK. Then hoping to go to Finland or Iceland for a couple of days. We shall see. x

Yes me too! I would love to explore more of the UK!
I had so many plans for 2020 too – it truly sucket but I guess it was the year of focussing more on me and taking care of myself. This year, I haven’t set anything I specifically want to do, just so I don’t get my hopes up, just blogging goals!
