So despite the fact that in the UK currently we are in the middle of a mini heatwave, I have gotten into the autumn fashion headspace. I wasn’t exactly planning for it to be 25C on a Monday in September, and so all content for the foreseeable will still be autumn fashion content. So today’s post is going to be all about this outfit which featured on my Instagram this morning… hence the Monday Outfit Diary.

Apart of autumn for me is going back to university. So whilst I want my outfits to be on trend and looking like something from a Zara magazine, it also needs to be comfortable. So days I might want to dress up with a nice top, some jeans and boots. Other days it might just be a tracksuit bottom number so its really varied. This outfit above covers both options really.

Starting with the coat, this is from H&M last year (possibly the year before), and this outfit is all made of pieces I got from last season. And you know what? There is nothing wrong with a bit of a revolving wardrobe. I think a camel coat is just essential for any autumn wardrobe as you can just sling it over any outfit. Also this one is not only really soft and comfortable, but it is also lightweight so you can easily layer it and not feel like you are being suffocated from the multiple layers. This is different to the usual camel coat. Being fabric its cosier, and also more autumnal than a classic all year around trench coat. I have linked below H&M’s coat from this year (its very similar to mine) and also some other options too!

The next item is the roll neck jumper. I think it is essential to have at least one white jumper in your wardrobe – I mean I think it speaks for itself. I opted last year to get this roll neck white jumper from H&M because it was slightly longer than the typical jumper. It is also asymmetrical with the back being longer than the front. So it is easy to throw on with some leggings and not have to worry about VPL or any see through scenarios. This jumper is also really thick so for the wetter and colder days this is my go to.

Also in this outfit is the leather look leggings. I have gone through my fair share of leather look leggings. I find they never really last because the faux leather cracks, or stretches around the seams. They just look good, but practicality wise aren’t the one. However, once I found these my mind was completely changed. The ones that I am wearing are the Missguided leather look leggings. I got them last year after reading about them on Instagram.

I also struggle with finding a pair that fit right. Some are too small so fall down from being unable to fit over my thighs. Some are too big around the was it but fit my legs right. ITS HARD. But I love these Missguided ones. They are made out of a leather look fabric that isn’t that awful PVC feel. They are more of polyester style fabric and therefore don’t crack. I have found the same ones and the trick is to search for coated leggings…

And last by no means least is the chunky trainers. After becoming extremely popular last year, the chunky trainers have become more of a staple rather than a fad. I love a good chunky trainer to make an outfit more casual. Whether thats with leggings and a coat, or a dress with a maxi skirt. These were known as Topshop’s dupe for the Balenciaga’s. Since so many more brands have taken their twist on them so definitely have a look at the options below.

I love this outfit, I wore something really similar this weekend! I totally agree with everything you said about the leather leggings, I love how they look but it’s so hard to get a good pair. Also agree about the camel coat, such a classic staple. Three of my favourites are camel x

I love this simple yet classical look. I really would love a camel coat, something about the caramel colour is gorgeous and your right, it goes with everything! And yes to autumn wear even though we are going through an Indian Summer moment lol : ) xo
