January’s Lipstick Choice

‘And TBH I am pretty appalled at myself for not trying one sooner’

I have a new idea. A new monthly blog post idea! YEP starting from nowww! This kinda came from two places… maybe three. I have been thinking about the lack of TLC I have been giving to my blog so I want to spend a bit more time towards it and I might start seeing the results I want. There is also the idea that I used to always do the classic ‘monthly faves’ post but I can’t even remember the last time I did one of them! And then I want to make it a goal to wear more lipstick. I have so much of it and I never get around to wearing it. So now we are here… Taaddaaaaaa!

So every month, I mean hopefully if I keep it up *fingers crossed*, I will talk about a new lippy that I have been crushing over. Lipsticks are veryyyy much a seasonal thing in my opinion – pinks for spring and oranges for summer – so it will be cool to see that transition!

Too Faced Melted Matte Liquid Lipstick in Gingerbread Man

If you love a good dark nude lipstick then this one is for you. I had never tried a Too Faced Melted Matte lipstick before this but trust me I had heard about the hype around one. And TBH I am pretty appalled at myself for not trying one sooner.

Even though most people see darker lips as a more autumnal thing, Jan still counts. December is very much a red lip combo type of month, but I feel this shade is perfect for January.

I got this lippy for Christmas, and I actually opened it on Christmas Day and put it on straight away. It is the most beaut dark nude, rusty brown shade with settles darker on the lip. It glides on so well and for a liquid lipstick its not that drying.

‘Sometimes when I wear liquid lipsticks I then have to avoid them after for a few days as they are drier than the desert however NOPE’

A liquid lipstick for me is always a go to because once it dries it doesn’t come off as easily as lipstick. I love the lipstick most purely because of the colour, and because of the scent. BLOODDDYYYYY hell it smells amazingly of gingerbread. Like its insane.

I do have to apply it after 4-5 hours but thats because I am a greedy thing and like to eat and drink all the time. And the only negative I would have to say about this is that if you don’t prep your lips or line them then it does tend to bleed, but saying this, this only happens after like 12 hours of wearing it. I feel like when you wear a dark lip for that amount of time its very much expected.

But if you build up the layers, unlike a lot of liquid lipsticks, it still doesn’t feel drying. Sometimes when I wear liquid lipsticks I then have to avoid them after for a few days as they are drier than the desert however NOPE.
