Blimey blimey blimey I can’t believe I have finally found the time to sit and write a blog post. So yeahhhh my life changed rather dramatically at the end of last month, which you probably read about as I have been banngggging on about it a bit, but I started uni. It’s weird to think I only started a few weeks ago because it seems like I have been there forever.
It was a big deal for me, NGL, and I am so proud of the fact I have nearly made it to half term and properly settled in! I am studying Fashion Media and Marketing (yes the dream course!!) and it is just everything and more that I would have hoped for. So I thought I would give a little update and stuff.
I started on the *24th of Sep* – my godddd feels like ages ago – but our first week was a sort of induction week. I am going to use a massive cliché so !!CLICHE ALERT!! but that week was a huge rollercoaster of a week. I felt so overwhelmed because I chose not to live in halls, but then I felt like everyone already knew each other, but as the week went on it did get better.
Now I am going into my fourth week (??????? I think maybe third…) and we are starting to get stuck into the course I am getting supper excited. We have four modules on the go = a lotta bloody work but one of our modules is a whole photography module and we are making mood boards, planning our shoots, all the themes and AHHHHH it’s very cool. I can’t wait to show that with you on my Insta stories (@emilyclarebeauty if yah wanna follow).
I have also made some really lovely friends too. I met my friend Lauren on my night out in freshers and honestly I don’t think starting uni would have been the same without her. She is so so lovely and knowing she was going to be there did calm my nerves a lot. There are only 20 or so on my course, and having a small course is amazing because you get to know everyone and it’s just more personal.
I have been struggling to find the time to fit everything in. I have literally gone from having all the time in the world to having barely an hour to sit and write a blog post. It doesn’t help that at work I am doing 5 days a week too…. yeah you heard that right babe. So if my blog or insta is a little quiet THAT IS WHY!! I am trying my best though so I am just gonna try to squeeze it in when I can.

Fashion media sounds so interesting! I did my first year of uni last year, decided to take a gap year to work for this year. Hope you enjoy the course, and congrats on getting into it!

I was wondering whether you are able to take a year off in-between studying or not!!
You can take a year out after you have finished your second year. You can decide to work in the industry that you want to gain a career in, or do an alternative. After that, you return to finish your final year. All together you do 4 years. If you have applied for a 3 year program, you may have to switch to a 4 year program which will allow you to take a year out. I switched from a 4 year to a 3 year program as I decided not to take a year out and complete my degree sooner.
Check out my blog, I have written parts of my experience at university in my ‘self-development’ section. I have just written a new one about organising myself for graduation and placed that in my ‘lifestyle’ section.
I hope you find this helpful!

I’m glad you’re doing so well- I started uni this year and I know it’s hard at the beginning but it’s so great when it all works out and you’re happy with the friends you’ve made and your course ☺️ I’m doing journalism with media but I love the sound of your course! I relate to being busy too aha, finding time for blogging these days is so hard!!
I have literally just posted another post about how its hard to keep up with my blog!
I’ll take a look aha!
