The Ordinary Coverage Foundation Review

IMG_6063
I have been struggling to find a foundation that is perfect for me. One that isn’t to matte that it sucks all the moisture out of my skin so it’s like a desert, and one that isn’t too oily so I don’t shine brighter than a diamond. There are so many foundations out there but I still haven’t found ~~ THE ONE ~~. But that might have changed….
You know that brand – The Ordinary – that everyone is talking about? Well if you haven’t what have you been doing the last couple of months?? Where have you been?! They are part of The Abnormal Beauty Company which sell skin care products, makeup products and all sorts, and when I was away in London I got to visit their shop in Covent Garden. Might I just say the shop was decorated PERFECTLY like my dream interiors. I only went in to have a browse and ended up with a new foundation!
I have had so many people asking me to review it because they have seen it online etc… So I thought I would give my honest opinions on it as I have been using it since I bought it.
Firstly, the foundation comes in a staggering 21 shades which I think is really good as you can get a real variety and diversity in it which is super important. The shades range from 1 being light, 2 being medium and 3 being dark. Then they have either N on them for neutral, R or P for cool tones or Y for yellow tones. So you can get an accurate shade of foundation which you know will suit you well, rather than just having five shades to choose from. My colour is 2.0N and suits me perfectly! To chose the colours, it is better to try it out in person, however you can talk to people on a live chat on the website, and knowing the coding they use, it is easy if you were to buy it online!
My first impression of it was that the bottle was quite small and that you probably won’t get as much formula as some foundations, BUT it is only £5.95. HALLELUJAH PRAISE THE MAKEUP GODS. You might think ‘Its really cheap so it won’t be very good’ but that is the complete and utter opposite!
I applied the foundation with my trusty Primark beauty blender, using one pump of the foundation. It blends really well and super quickly so there is none of the spending-hours-trying-to-get-rid-of-foundation-lines nonsense. The foundation is a really lightweight formula which is semi-matte so looks natural but also doesn’t make it look like someone has washed your face in grease. I really like this foundation because it is really long-lasting. It doesn’t feel heavy on my face and when I touch my face not much product rubs off so you don’t need to worry about pesky foundation marks rubbing off on your clothing.
The only thing I would change about the foundation is that it doesn’t come with a lid on the pump, so if you were to take it on holiday or on a trip, you would have to perhaps take it in the box it came with to stop any contamination or avoid product spilling over everywhere.
Other than that, this foundation is a must have and I will be repurchasing it because its AMAZING. I think for the moment I have found a foundation I will stick with. What I have also noticed is that when I apply it under my eyes, lightly, before my concealer, it reduces any creasing under the eye which is the BANE OF MY LIFE.
Unfortunately, this foundation is SO in demand, that they have sold out of it at the moment, however I definitely would keep an eye out for it if I were you because it IS SO WORTH IT.
You can find the foundation << here >>.
Have you tried this foundation? If not what foundation are you loving lately?

Looks really great! Hopefully I’ll be able to grab a bottle when it comes back in stock, I just struggle wit what shade to buy, I’m not very good at colour matching myself and I always find that in store lighting is different and the product looks way darker when you step outside! X

I have being using the primers from The Ordinary and what more to say, it’s just super amazing… Their products are so bomb. The Colours were out of stock for a while and even though they restock it just disapears. :p
